Description:

My name is Gifford Rogers. I was born on June 10, 1961, in New York City, to Ben and Hannah Rogers. My first name honors my great uncle Gifford, who died in the Lusitania sinking in 1915. My parents' lives ended suddenly in a car crash while we were visiting my great uncle Frankie Rogers and his partner Billy Haines in Hollywood. Since my parents were on bad terms with my other uncles in New York, Great Uncle Frankie took me in. He was my only family left. Great Uncle Frankie owned part of Gatsby Pictures, which made films and TV shows. In 1969, I landed a main role on the TV show The Brady Bunch, playing Bobby Brady. The show ran until 1974. Later, I got my first big movie role as Philip Albright in The Towering Inferno. In 1977, I joined the cast of Happy Days as Chachi Arcola, Fonzie’s younger cousin. I stayed with the show until 1984. During that time, in 1980, I starred in Prom Night with Jamie Lee Curtis, playing her boyfriend, Nick McBride. A few years later, in 1983, I appeared as camp counselor Ronnie Angelo in the horror film Sleepaway Camp. The following year, I played Glen Lentz in A Nightmare on Elm Street. Before Happy Days ended, I also joined The Love Boat. I played the ship’s photographer, Ashley “Ace” Covington Evans, from season 7 until season 9. Earlier this year, I returned to the role, now as the ship’s Purser, in The Love Boat specials airing this fall. My great uncle Frankie once asked me to take part in a musical called Brown of Harvard. I played Tom Brown, a role Billy Haines performed in a silent film. The tour starts in Tokyo, Japan. I bought two tickets—one for me and one for Uncle Frankie’s partner, Billy Haines on the RMS Atlantis . We are excited to join the international tour of Brown of Harvard in Tokyo.
